Toxic Ecology
This risograph prints combines the the John McDonogh tree in City Park with imagery of petrochemical infrastructure from Cancer Alley. This 800 year old oak tree, named after John McDonough the prominent slave holder and white supremacist, is currently propped up by big wooden poles and in my drawing, I'm visualizing how the legacies of white supremacy from the time of enslavement uphold and make possible the exploitation of people and landscape in our current petrochemical age.
